Bird Walk For Beginners - Mud Lake
Sunday, April 19, 2026 - 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Interested in birdwatching but not sure where to start?
Join us for a FREE beginner bird walk hosted by Wild Birds Unlimited Kanata & Ottawa.
This month, join Daniel Shaw and David O’Neill at Mud Lake to spot early spring migration action. The trees, shorelines, and river will be alive with birds, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for waterfowl, forest birds, and early spring warblers.
Location: Mud Lake
The walk will last about 1.5 - 2 hours. Our route will include a section of paved road, dirt forest trails (uneven but mostly flat), and a short moderate incline up to the ridge for a lookout over the Ottawa River before descending back to the shoreline.
If you’d prefer to skip the incline, no problem. There will be plenty of great birding opportunities along the paved road, and we’ll meet you again at the bottom of the hill.
Important Information:
- Registration is limited to 20 participants and fills quickly.
- If your plans change, please email us at [email protected] so we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist.
- Each participant must complete their own registration form.
- After submitting, you’ll receive a copy of your responses as confirmation.
- Meeting details will be emailed a few days before the walk.
