Ever wonder who’s sneaking around your backyard after dark?

Join us in-store at WBU Kanata on Wednesday, Oct 29th at 6:30 PM for a fun and eye-opening evening with Kate MacNeil, Executive Director of the Ottawa-Carleton Wildlife Centre! She’ll dive into the secret lives of the nocturnal critters that live in our neighbourhoods and share how we can live more peacefully alongside them. With over 20 years of experience helping people and wildlife coexist, Kate will reveal what these furry neighbours are up to this time of year, how their activities fit into the backyard ecosystem, and simple ways to keep your outdoor space welcoming for both wild birds and other wildlife.

When we learn more about the species around us, we can coexist more peacefully—and in doing so, connect more deeply with nature. There is growing evidence of the many benefits that spending time with wildlife and the natural world offers, from mind and body to spirit. For 35 years, the Ottawa-Carleton Wildlife Centre has been educating the public and helping people of all ages appreciate the natural world.

This lively session is perfect for backyard bird enthusiasts and anyone curious about the creatures that come out after dark. Attendees will have the chance to win adorable wildlife-themed prizes and tweets for your backyard birds. Donations to the OCWC are welcome to support their vital work in educating our community about local wildlife. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and leave with a deeper understanding of the magical world happening in your backyard at night!
